and let’s dig in!

1.     Takya

Located in the lively streets of Sulaimaniyah Riyadh this restaurant is for those people who want to enjoy authentic Saudi food with a side of classic and modern vibes. It’s the kind of place that feels special but still makes you feel right at home.

The Interior

The interior design impressed me on my very first visit. It felt like I walked into a modern Saudi majlis with cool lights and ambiance so good that I wanted to admire it for hours.

The two story setup is impressive and even during rush hours, you will find a seat for yourself. Those long tables scream that the place is designed for special occasions or friends night outs.

The woven chairs and textured ceiling gave it a cool, earthy vibe, kind of like dining in a stylish coastal escape.

THE OUTDOORS?

It gives those beach vibes with woven chairs and a light brown color scheme. You will want your food to arrive late so you can snap a few photos.

My Favorite Items:

Their menu is long and each dish has a nice description so you won’t feel lost.

BUT

If you are visiting for the first time what should you get? Let me tell you about the dishes I liked:

  • Mathlutha: Well, I didn’t think that I will every talk about wheat balls being my favorite but here we are. These smoked rice and durum wheat balls are filled with black lime and onions. With some bell pepper in the sauce, the dish impressed me.
  •  Sayadia Rice: I didn’t share a single bite with anyone and I don’t regret it. The rice has a nice amount of caramelized onions with fragrant spices that would take you to another world. The hamour fish was perfectly seared with a side of their house-made chutney adding that little zig to the taste.
  • Mastic Cheesecake: I have eaten many cheesecakes but this one isn’t that ordinary one. The mastic-infused cream cheese gave it a unique, slightly floral flavor, and the buttery crust just melted in my mouth.

It is topped with crumble and strawberry sauce but I would rather go without the strawberry sauce.

2.     Feluka

This place is special and unique. The moment I walked in it felt like I had dived straight into the ocean. I’m talking blue lights everywhere and fish swimming across the walls (well, projected fish, but still!).

It’s like dining under the ocean without getting wet.

The white tables and chairs keep it bright, so it doesn’t feel too dark. It’s one of the coolest restaurant vibes I’ve seen in Riyadh!

My Picks From The Menu

Feluka has so many options grilled fish, fried seafood, and even Lebanese sides like Hommus Beiruty and Spicy Potatoes. I swear, you could come back ten times and still find new things to try.

In one word the food here is just ‘WOW”. I started my meal with the Octopus Legs. Well, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about eating octopus but one bite and I was all in.

It is grilled just right, super tender, and served with buttery baby potatoes. The lemon butter sauce adds a slight twist to the whole meal and makes it 10x better.

If you are out with a group then I would suggest going for the Seafood Paella Plate. It includes shrimp, squid, and mussels, all piled on saffron rice.

AND YEAH!

The Feluka Shell is also something to try. It’s meant for sharing but I would rather keep it all to myself.

3.     Billionaire Riyadh

If you are in Riyadh then you must have heard about this restaurant at least once. If there is one word that could describe this place it would be

LUXURY!

The moment I walked in it felt like I was walking in a scene of movie. The plush velvet seats, sparkling chandeliers, and dramatic lighting that makes the whole space glow will surely impress the best of us.

The ceilings are super high and every corner has a unique piece of art that you would want to capture for your Insta story.

The energy of this place is unmatched, especially at night time. The slow music and sometimes a DJ to turn your meal into a hip-hop show.

Best Food In Sulaimaniyah Riyadh?

This restaurant has a unique dual cuisine concept. You get a slice of New-Asian and Italian cuisine under one roof.

YUP! THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!

I love their Prawn Tempura, especially in the appetizers. It is crunchy and is fried at just the right temperature to keep it golden.

After that I usually go for their Truffle Pizza and the crust on this pizza is super thin.

Just the way I love it!

The pizza has an immense amount of cheese all over it and that truffle flavor makes you want to order another one.

BUT WAIT!

The real deal for me in here is the Wagyu Beef Tataki. Thin slices of melt-in-your-mouth beef with a rich, savory sauce. I could’ve ordered two more plates! And don’t even get me started on their desserts. Let’s just say, you need to save room.

Friendly Advice: Make sure your payday is near because your wallet will be empty when stepping out.

4.     Jollibee Riyadh

If you are going out for dinner or lunch with your little one’s then this restaurant will not disappoint in any way.

The restaurant is bright, clean, and super welcoming perfect for families. Kids love this place thanks to the big Jollibee mascot at the entrance and on the buckets themselves.

It’s the kind of place where you let your kids enjoy while you sit peacefully in a corner watching them play.

Is The Food Good?

Good? It’s an absolute must-try! The menu will have your kids fighting with you but I will give you a few of my favorites to save you from all the drama.

I love their chicken joy the most.

WOW

That name makes total sense after trying it out. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and that gravy? I could drink it!

I tried the Spicy Chickenjoy too, and it brought the perfect heat. You can grab it solo or go big with the 6 or 8-piece buckets if you’re with friends. Trust me, sharing is caring, but you might not want to share this!

Let’s not forget the Jolly Spaghetti which is amongst their best sellers. It’s sweet, saucy, and loaded with cheese and bits of hotdog.

I would recommend going for their crispy fries on the side. They are golden and have just the right amount of serving to make it enjoyable.
