Your hunt for the best fish and chips in Riyadh is going to end here today! I love this dish and there is something about that golden, flanky, tender, and crispy fish that no other food can match.
With a side of perfectly cut fries that could win the best side dish award fish and chips are a favorite for everyone.
Guess what?
The chefs in Riyadh know how to make this British masterpiece but not all chefs are good at it. To make things easy for you and save you from spending in places where the food is just not good I have short-listed five of my favorite spots in Riyadh which are:
Grab a fork (or just use your hands it’s fish and chips after all), and let’s explore the crunchiest fish that Riyadh has to offer.
1. Jar International
This place is at the top of the list because this is where I go when I crave some British fish and chips with a side of class and elegance.
They offer both indoor and outdoor dining options depending on your mood and weather. On the outdoors, you’ve got those beach-style chairs and tables with giant umbrellas making you feel like you are on a beach (minus the sand in your shoes).
On the inside, it’s all about class, elegance and style. The interior design with comfortable green sofa seats will make you feel at home and the grey color scheme gives the dining area a nice quite look.
Best Fish And Chips In Riyadh?
Now, let’s talk about my experience with their fish and chips. If I had only one word to describe them it would be
WOW!
For SAR 65 you get a plate that is worth every riyal and honestly even more. The fish feels and smells fresh with a crunch on the outer layer and completely soft on the inside.
The fries are cut thick and have that perfect seasoning. If you are someone who loves their seafood done right then Jar will have your back.
They also have other delicious dishes like:
- Beef Tacos
- Truffle Alfredo Pasta
- Chicken and Beef Burgers
Location Of Jar:
You can find this restaurant at Alyasmin, King Abdulaziz Road, Riyadh.
2. London Fish N Chips
The name of this restaurant says it all. It’s from London where fish and chips are originally born and it’s famous for that too.
If you are someone who wants to stay in their pajamas and still enjoy the British classic then this option will hit the spot just right.
TRUST ME!
You will fall in love with their fish.
Menu Options
If they are famous for it then they will have variety too. Their menu has 4 – 6 different fish options with more than just fries on the side.
My favorite was the Big Ben. For SAR 46 only you get fish paired with six pieces of shrimp and fries too. Now that’s a deal you can’t miss.
BUT THERE’S MORE!
If you don’t like shrimp then I will suggest going for the Parklane at SAR 41. It gives you the classic fish-and-fries duo.
The fish retained its flavor even after delivery and the shrimp was perfectly fried and juicy.
This is the perfect option for those lazy days or movie nights with friends and compared to other restaurants the prices are good too.
3. Broasted Express
For a fish and chips experience that has great vibes but goes easy on your wallet head over to Broasted Express.
The restaurant has quite a welcoming and playful vibe. The wooden tables and chairs add a touch of minimalism while the greens across the area give it a bit of fresh feel.
The open layout and sophisticated hanging lights scream “Relax, you’re here for good food and good vibes!”
The Fish And Chips
For just SAR 30 you get three fried fish fillets that are cooked just at the right temperature.
But
You also get some finely done fries and a tartar sauce that ties the whole dish together nicely.
If you want a bit of twist on the fish and chips then try their spicy ones. It’s the same dish but with added heat (I am still sweating).
The reason why I like their fish and chips is because they don’t overcomplicate things. Simple fish and chips with an atmosphere where you will want to sit without any reason.
How To Find Broasted Express?
You can find this restaurant at Baghluf Corner, Khalid Ibn Al Walid Street, Ghirnatah, Riyadh.
4. The Best Fish and Chips
The name needs no introduction because it says it all.
They are good at it so they used the name for it.
If you are at Riyadh gallery mall and are hit by some serious seafood craving then this is the hero you didn’t know you needed.
Located on the second floor of Riyadh Gallery Mall this grab-and-go spot is here to save you from hanger (you know, hunger meets anger) with seafood that’s fast, fresh, and downright delicious.
How’s The Taste?
My favorite was their Fried Hamour. For just SAR 43 you get 200 grams of golden fish with some fries, lemon, and ketchup on the side.
It’s a perfect way to fuel your body for some more shopping. It’s satisfying, easy to eat, and just messy enough to remind you that great food doesn’t need a fancy plate.
Who said you can’t eat like royalty at a mall food court? Definitely not me!
Where Is It Located?
It is located at Riyadh Gallery Mall, 2nd Floor, King Fahd, Riyadh.
5. Shrimp Shack
Established back in 2015 this spot has become famous for its delicious variety of seafood options in Riyadh and has grown into multiple branches now.
We stopped by their branch in Ar Rabi, and it didn’t disappoint. The minimalist interior design with a combination of grey and brown color tones makes this place relaxing and calm.
The Taste?
let’s talk about their fish and chips now.
The flavor? Spot On!
The fish had a satisfying amount of seasoning which was not overwhelming and the perfect combination of tender and crunchy.
The fries were golden and had just the right amount of salt which made them a perfect duo together. The portion sizes are good too and you won’t feel like you need another piece of fish to feel full.
