If you are looking for Filipino restaurants in Riyadh that bring the authentic taste of Philippines to your plate then you will have plenty of options to choose from.
Riyadh’s food scene is becoming more like a melting pot with different cuisines from around the world in one place but the Filipino food is definitely getting some attention.
Whether you’re all about adobo or can’t resist a big bowl of sinigang, Riyadh’s got some seriously awesome Filipino spots that’ll make you feel like you’re right back in the Philippines.
AND
let’s be real—sometimes, only Pinoy food hits the spot, right?
In this blog, we will talk about some of the best Filipino restaurants in Riyadh that will truly remind you of home and if you are not from the Philippines then you will travel to the Philippines without a ticket once you try this food.
So let’s not bore you with my stories and get started.
1. Asian Taste Restaurant
The first Filipino restaurant on our list is this beautiful family restaurant located at Al, Malaz. Asian Taste has two branches in Riyadh so don’t worry about traveling far away for getting your food.
The restaurant is calm, minimalist and the staff will make you feel right at your aunt’s home.
TRUST ME!
It’s a go-to for all things Filipino, Thai, and Chinese! They even have live music at some nights usually on weekends so you can eat and groove.
If you are a vegan or dining with one they have got some tasty vegetarian options to entertain you.
Cuisine At Asian Taste
The place is heaven for Asian food and you get plenty of options to choose from. For the Filipino food don’t miss the Beef Sinigang. It’s a delicious and tangy tamarind soup loaded with tender beef, okra, and green chilies.
They also have the Sizzling Beef Sisig which includes shredded beef, crispy garlic, peppers, and a fresh egg.
YOU CAN’T GET MORE AUTHENTIC THAN THIS CAN YOU?
And if you have a sweet tooth, you’re in luck because their Halo-Halo is as fun as it is delicious. It’s a classic Filipino dessert that mixes shaved ice, jellies, and creamy goodness, making it the perfect way to end a meal here.
Must-Try Dishes At Asian Taste
Their menu is quite detailed so I had to go through reviews before visiting the restaurant.
GUESS WHAT THE REVIEWS SAID?
Filipino expats swear by their authentic dishes, and if you’re new to Filipino food, this is the perfect place to start!
Some of the dishes that I loved were:
- Beef Kare-Kare: if you love food from Philippines then this dish will be your new favorite because it’s all about nutty flavors. This dish includes tender beef topped with their authentic peanut sauce, and eggplant and then served with rice and anchovies.
- Bangus Inasal: Fish but the Filippino style. This dish includes marinated bangus (milkfish) which is dipped in BBQ sauce and served with rice and papaya. Seafood lovers will love this for sure!
- Tom Yum Soup: Going through hundreds of reviews for this restaurant you will see this soup mentioned everywhere. It’s a perfect appetizer which is Spicy, sour, and loaded with herbs.
Average Price For A Meal:
You can expect to spend somewhere between SAR 45 – 60 for a single person meal in this Philippines restaurant. Not bad for some authentic food.
2. Cusina: Filipino x Japanese
This restaurant has become the new hot spot for both Philippines and Japanese food lovers in Riyadh. Instead of just offering Filipino food they have combined the flavors with Japanese food to make everything more delicious and interesting.
The interior design isn’t traditional or luxury but instead, they have gone with a nice brown and pink color scheme. The food and the décor both are something unique.
YOU WON’T SEE A PINK FILIPINO RESTAURANT IN RIYADH!
Cuisine At Cusina
I have to give it to them they know how to mix things the right way. When I heard Philippines food mixed with Japanese I was a bit hesitant but they proved my gut feeling wrong.
You will get to try dishes that feel both exotic and traditional at the same time.
WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GET SUCH FEELING? NOWHERE.
For sushi lovers you will get some tasty options like the Sweet Crab Maki, Crazy Maki which packs a spicy punch. For the classics you can get the Kare Kare which will leave you amazed.
From their maki, sushi, ramen, teriyaki, soups, fried rice, pancit, grilled dishes, filipino dishes and desserts (too may options!) each dish is authentic and delicious.
Must-Try Dishes At Cusina
Well, with so many options what should you even try? To be honest I had to look at the menu for a good 15 minutes before choosing the items and I would recommend:
- Barkada Mix: if you are out with family or friends then this is the perfect option for sharing. It includes Maki and sushi rolls with different fillings. You will have plenty of options to try out at a good price.
- Beef Sisig: Well you will be impressed with this one for sure. It includes chopped meat cooked with spices. Its served hot so make sure to wait for a few seconds.
- Stir-Fry Beef with Pepper Sauce: For something simple and satisfying I would go with this dish. It includes juicy beef that is stir-fried and coated in pepper sauce.
Average Prices At Cusina
A lot of the reviews did mention that the restaurant is on the pricier side but the experience and food makes up for it. You can expect to spend somewhere between SAR 80 – 110.0 SR for a single person meal here.
3. Blue Ribbon Filipino Food And Bakery
How about a Filipino bakery and restaurant all under one roof?
YES PLEASE!
With two branches in Riyadh this place is quickly gaining popularity for its authentic Philippines food. The ambiance is quite simple with a combination of unique blue and white colors.
The chairs are not really comfortable but I think the food offsets some of the minor inconveniences at this restaurant.
AND YEAH!
You will feel the smell of freshly baked items when you step in which will instantly make you 2x hungrier.
I wouldn’t call it a good restaurant for families but for a quick grab or outing with friends, this place will get the job done.
Their menu is detailed and have different Filipino food options like soups, noodles, Special Kambing and a dedicated vegetarian section.
Must Try Dishes At Blue Ribbon
The staff is helpful and recommended some amazing Filipino items but still the menu could get you confused. I would recommend going for these dishes:
Sinigang Na Bulalo: Traditional Soup from Philippines that includes tender beef and veggies. Its perfect especially when the whether is cold.
Sizzling Boneless Bangus With Rice: Fish marinated in their special and authentic Filipino sauce and then served with rice. You will not want to share this with anyone.
Pancit Bihon: The most delicious stir-fried rice noodles I have tried in Riyadh. It includes a generous amount of meat and veggies and is a must especially if you love noodles.
Chicken Adobo + Rice: This tender chicken is topped with soya sauce, ginger and some Filippino spices. Trust me you will be licking your fingers after eating this.
Average Prices At Blue Ribbon
The prices at this restaurant are reasonable and you can expect to pay around SAR 40 – 60 for a delicious meal for one person.
Conclusion
So there you go my favorite Filipino restaurants in Riyadh that I would recommend to anyone from Philippines or someone who is interested in trying Asian food.
Now it’s your turn to head over to these places and try their delicious food.
