If you are tired of searching for the best Hummus in Riyadh then I am here to help you.
No need to worry anymore!
I know that finding the perfect bowl which is smooth, creamy, and has just the right balance of chickpeas, tahini, and olive oil is not easy.
Riyadh has no shortage of places that offer this delicious Middle Eastern dish.
BUT
Not all Hummus are created equal.
Some places get it right, and some… well, let’s just say they need to rethink their chickpea game.
After trying almost every Hummus restaurant I have shortlisted four of my favorites which are:
If you like the classic chickpea hummus or something a bit fancy like loaded with pine nuts, topped with spiced beef, or with a little extra garlic kick, these four places do it right.
Let me give you the details
1. Al Naqaa
If you are like me who cares more about what’s on the plate than how fancy the ambiance is then this place is for you.
This place is very simple.
Ordinary chairs, white tables, and no décor to distract you
BUT
Their Hummus is not so simple.
Al Naqaa serves what many argue is one of the finest hummus bowls in the city and I can vote for it. They keep things classic and offer different sizes of Hummus depending on how hungry you are.
The overall texture of their Hummus is silky and smooth and the taste is just like a traditional Hummus which feels right with almost anything.
AND YEAH!
They have some of the best Falafel in Riyadh. I paired their Falafel with Hummus and I think I have just found my new favorite budget restaurant in Riyadh.
Al Naqaa may not win any interior design awards, but when it comes to pure, traditional hummus, they’ve got it figured out.
Location:
This Hummus restaurant is located at 2742 Abdullah Al Hamathani St, حي الملز, Riyadh 13325, Saudi Arabia.
2. Em Sherif – Hummus, But Make It Fancy
If there was a VIP section for Hummus then Em Sherif would be hosting the show there. They have good food but that’s not the only thing they nailed.
Their ambiance and overall experience will leave your appetite and camera satisfied. The white and blue ambiance is something that will instantly take your attention.
I couldn’t hold myself from taking pictures.
They have turned traditional Middle Eastern dining into a luxury experience.
Their Hummus variations will leave you confused for a moment and the taste is top-notch.
Their Hummus options include:
- Hummus with Pine Nuts: Creamy hummus topped with crunchy toasted pine nuts.
- Hummus Fatteh: A mix of hummus, crispy pita chips, yogurt, and a bit of melted butter.
- Hummus with Black Angus Beef: Smooth hummus with soft, flavorful Black Angus beef on top.
- Hummus with Shawarma Meat: Classic hummus topped with juicy, spiced shawarma meat.
3. Filfila Hut – A Lively Hummus Restaurant
If you like Hummus with a side of good vibes then Filfila is definitely for you. The restaurant is small with limited seating but the whole experience here is probably my favorite out of all the four.
The green and grey ambiance with grass covered walls and flowers hanging from the ceiling gives this place a refreshing and lively feel.
Now talking about Hummus they don’t just believe in one kind. They will give you so many options that you will start to think if you have truly even tried Hummus ever.
My favorite three are:
Hummus with Oil: The traditional hummus you know and love, blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic.
Meat and Nuts Hummus: A new take on Hummus topped with tender meat and crunchy nuts for extra texture.
Hummus Sandwich: Because sometimes, dipping isn’t enough you need hummus stuffed into warm pita for a handheld snack.
Location
This Hummus restaurant in Riyadh is located at Prince Mamduh Bin Abdulaziz St, As Sulimaniyah, Riyadh 12245, Saudi Arabia.
4. Zayt Wa Hummus – A Small Spot with Big Hummus Flavors
This place keeps things simple both in terms of size and focus. Their small dining area can house almost 10 – 15 people but their Hummus game is definitely strong.
If you want to try authentic, traditional, and well-made Hummus then this is the place to head over to.
AND
You won’t get any distractions here because the whole focus is on food.
My favorite Hummus on their menu is:
Beiruti Hummus: The herby, garlicky, and slightly tangy version of hummus, blended with parsley and olive oil.
Hummus with Foul (Small & Large): A filling option that combines creamy hummus with foul (fava beans) for extra richness.
Hummus with Meat and Nuts (Large): A protein-packed dish with minced meat, crunchy nuts, and warm spices.
Location
This Hummus spot is located at As Sulay, Riyadh.
