Korean Restaurants in Jeddah: 4 Must-Try Spots

Korean Restaurants in Jeddah

If you are struggling to find the best Korean restaurants in Jeddah then this blog is definitely for you. I have been in Saudi Arabia for the past 20 years and have seen and tested every dish and restaurant out here.

I have gathered a list of Korean food places in Jeddah that will have you grilling, slurping, and happily struggling with chopsticks in no time.

The Red Sea City doesn’t disappoint when the topic is food. You will get to see a variety of cuisines like Indian, seafood and many other options.

BUT

The Korean food here is top-notch

AND

I can vote for that.

If you like sizzling K-BBQ, a steaming bowl of kimchi jjigae, or crispy Korean fried chicken, Jeddah has some seriously good options.

So?

Grab those chopsticks and a friend who can handle spices and let me walk you through four of my favorite places in Jeddah.

1.    Hwa Ro Korean BBQ

If you are a fan of BBQ then this place is designed for you.

BBQ + KOREAN?

What else can one ask for?

When you go inside this restaurant the only sound you hear will be that of meat sizzling on a hot grill.

BUT

Here’s the showstopper!

You get a grill for yourself and an opportunity to grill your own meat the way you like it!

The overall vibe of the place is just like any steakhouse or premium restaurant in Saudi Arabia. You get a nice wooden interior design with low lights that add a touch of luxury to the dining area.

OH AND YEAH

The food is amazing but I felt like the dining area is a bit smaller. You might occasionally bump into some people before reaching your table.

What to Eat?

You are the chef (sort of) in this restaurant. Every table here comes with a built-in charcoal grill so you can cook your meat the way you want it.

The menu is packed with options in almost all categories like seafood, and classic Korean dishes. Some must-try options:

  • Charcoal Grilled Hwaro Galbi: It’s juicy with a smokey taste and great flavor.
  • Modeum Jjin Mandu: Steamed dumplings which are my favorite for starters.
  • Kimchi Fried Rice with Charcoal Grilled Galbi: Because BBQ + kimchi + rice = happiness.
  • Japchae: Stir-fried glass noodles with veggies

If you are visiting with a big group then I would recommend going for the giant Hanpan Modeum Gui which is a massive platter with mixed meats.

2.    Chan

This Korean restaurant feels like you just teleported to the streets of Korea. The walls are crowded with traditional Korean art and neon signs which create a great energy in the dining area.

YOU WILL WANT TO STAY HERE FOREVER!

It’s casual, fun, and full of flavor, just like the street food joints in Seoul.

Did I mention it?

You get an outdoor dining area too.

I would recommend sitting there at night time to truly enjoy the view of the restaurant and surroundings.

What’s On The Menu?

I have to say that choosing your favorite item will be a bit difficult here because everything sounds and looks so good.

You will want to try everything but if it comes down to only trying a few dishes then I would recommend going for:

Korean BBQ Wings: These are Sticky, sweet, and spicy. Make sure to wear gloves or you will be covered in sauce.
Shrimp Bao Sliders: A nice combination of bao and shrimp to create a nice flavor.

Beef Mongolian: The beef is tender and their homemade sauce adds a unique flavor.

Tom Yum Ramen: A little Thai twist with that spicy, tangy broth.

3.    Koreana – Simple Korean Restaurant In Jeddah

This restaurant isn’t trying to impress you with neon lights or wooden interior design.

BUT

They sure will impress you with delicious Korean food. The restaurant has a simple, traditional, and dated design which is surprisingly comfortable.

You can call it kind of a straightforward, slightly old-school, bright, and tidy place.

The tables are plain with no distractions and the place is ideal for long chats with your loved ones without any distractions.

Menu Items To Try

Compared to other Korean restaurants in Jeddah this place has kept the options limited but the taste here is unbeatable.

If you are visiting this place for the first time I would recommend trying:

  • Galbi (Grilled Korean Beef Ribs): My favorite! These are juicy and have a smoked flavor to them.
  • Dak Galbi: This spicy chicken is stir-fried with cheese, corn, and egg.
  • Ojingeo Bokkeum: Stir-fried squid that’s spicy, chewy, and ridiculously tasty.
  • Hwe Deopbab: Sushi but in a bowl. The fish is fresh with a side of rice.

4.    Sura

Not everyone likes a simple ambiance and some people prefer restaurants where they can create some viral snaps and impress their friends.

Well,

One such place is this Korean restaurant.

If Sura were a person, it’d be that effortlessly cool friend who knows all the best food spots, has impeccable taste, and somehow always looks good in dim lighting.

I really loved the retro look of the restaurant which is made by having Exposed pipes, dark color palettes, and tufted booths.

It’s luxury and retro combined.

What’s Good? (Hint: Everything.)

Jjajangmyeon: These black bean noodles have a tasty broth and you will pack some to take home for sure.

Charcoal-Grilled Bulgogi: You won’t get a better steak than this. It’s Smoky, sweet, and ridiculously tender.

Kimchi Fried Rice with Galbi: This is a full meal witha decent serving of rice, spicy kimchi, and grilled short ribs.
